6th International Conference on System Science in Health Care
BARCELONA (SPAIN) September 16-20 , 1996
1. Background.
The International Society for System Science in Health care was created
10 years ago in Paris. Since the first Conference in Paris (1976) four
Conferences have been successfully held in Montreal (1980), Munchen
(1984), Lyon (1988) and Prague (1992). The number of participants have
constantly grown over the years, achieving in Prague (1992) more than
1000 registrations.
2. SSHC96
VI Conference on System Science in Health Care will take place from 16
to 20 September 1996 in Barcelona, Spain.
3. Objective
Last Conference (Prague 1992) pointed out challenges that health
systems all over the World are facing. SSHC96 would be focused on the
international comparison of health care systems at different stages of
development. The speakers will discuss the results of reforms to date,
value positive and negative experiences in the ongoing processes of
reform.
4. Target group
The SSHC96 would like to give an opportunity to professionals working
in the field of health care - either national or international - such
as health economists, health administrators, consultants, managers,
etc. to share their experiences and discuss new propositions in order
to improve and further develop health care systems in their home
countries.

8. Organizers
The Institute of Public Health (ISP) of Catalonia and the Spanish
Association of Health Economics (AES) signed an agreement with the
International Society of System Sciences for Health Care (ISSSHC).
Asociacion de Economia de la Salud (AES)
Since 1985, this association has been integrated by professionals
interested in Health Economics regardsless their of origin. The main
aims of AES : to facilitate Health Economics activities, to promote and
spread Health Economy studies, to organize scientific meetings, to
publish scientific papers etc.
Institut de Salud Publica de Catalonia (ISP)
The ISP is a public entity created by the Government of Catalonia, the
City Council of Barcelona and the University of Barcelona. Its mission
is to contribute effectively to the health improvement of the local
population through research, education and consultanting service
porvision in all public health areas.
