With respect to Beck's derivation of his thinking from Kelly, I can assure
you that (a) it is true, and (b) it is loose. In conversations with him,
he acknowledges reading Kelly with interest in the sixties, but not
following developments in the theory closely. He has acknowledged Kelly's
generic influence in several places, but let's face it, in most important
respects, these two theorists are poles apart. I'll gladly provide some
citations where these contrasts are developed if others are interested.
