In the early 1900s a group of psychotherapists set out to build bridges
between their discipline and other approaches to understanding and treating
psychosis. They drew together psychiatrists, psychoanalysts and other
mental health workers to reconsider psychotic phenomena: how we think about
them and approach them clinically.
There was an international conference in 1992, a second one in 1994, and
one is planned for September 1996,
at the University of Essex, Colchester, England.
These conferences have been sponsored by
The Guild of Psychotherapists,
The journal _Free Associations_,
The Area Health Authority and
The University of Essex.
The proceedings of the first conference have now been published:
