But folks, if you've followed my original analysis, and wish to exercise a
little sociality, you have to acknowledge that we're all in the same
position: when _each_ of us dies, our experienced universe dies with us. An
entire universe dies whenever any single person dies, and this is true for
us all.
In other words, if we want to use it, we're _all_ entitled to the capital "I"...
John Donne said it very elegantly:
"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And
therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee"
but note the first part, viz., since you and I are part of other peoples'
universes, something of us dies too, when any one person dies. Not sure I
agree with that part of his quote. Any comments?
