I think listowners have no more obligation to let everyone into their
list than home owners have an obligation to let everyone into their
home. Running a list is some work and trouble. The host invites us to
come, and if we don't like the rules, we find another party, or establish
our own. For these reasons, then, I believe we should support the
listowner's decision to jettison Bill Chambers even if certain people
feel that they want to be on a list that allows his presence. Bill is
free to go to other lists where he can discuss these issues, and those
people who want to do so are free to set up a special Bill Chambers list
where he could elaborate his ideas and teach them with his own special
style of instruction.
