at Queen Mary and Westfield College, London on 10th and 11th September
1996:
"An Introduction to the Internet and Searching for Information using
the World Wide Web, for Social Scientists" - 10th September.
This workshop takes the participant from the basics of using the the
Internet and the World Wide Web through to searching for social
science related information. It will include a talk from Lesly Huxley
who works for the Social Science Information Gateway. It will be of
benefit to subject librarians as will as academics, lecturers and
researchers.

"World Wide Web Authoring" - 11th September
This workshop provides the participant with hands-on experience of
creating World Wide Web pages, including good practice, graphics and
active pages. The WWW authoring course is for people who have used
the WWW and want to start writing their own web pages.
The workshops will run from 9:30am until 4:30 pm. The cost is 30.00
pounds per participant, which includes coffee, lunch, computer lab
time and all materials. The workshop is intended primarily for those
working within the UK HE community.
Workshops do not require previous experience but a knowledge of MS
Windows would be helpful.
