In Counselling and Psychotherapy, change tends to refer to the improvement or deterioration in the client’s experience, for example, of symptoms, mood, well-being, behaviour, perception, etc. It’s important to be careful to distinguish change from “outcome” and to understand that in most therapies change is not just unidimensional, either across multiple clients, or for any one individual client. The field of “outcome measurement does tend to oversimplify these issues. |
