GAS is a methodology for valuing and systematically identifying the specific goals of an individual client. A goal of treatment is identified by the client and counsellor who then go on to define the parameters that would indicate positive or negative outcomes in relation to this goal. These can then be rated at regular intervals. One advantage of this is the collaborative process of agreeing goals. The process does not allow for a change in goals during the process of therapy without generating a new scale. |
