There is an argument that the qualitative-quantitative distinction is an
artifical one. I can't remember any references.
A key issue regarding generalisation/external validity concerns how many
grids you have. If you only have 10 or 20 participants it is difficult,
with subgroups to then say x vs y nurses construe persons with dementia
differently etc.
